Our Cause

Supporting our military & first responders is the heart and soul of Brides Across America. Military members and first responders who qualify receive a free wedding gown through our programs.

The BAA Cause

Brides Across America (BAA) was founded by Heidi Janson in 2008 -- after reading an article about a soldier that felt that we forgot them in Afghanistan. She came to the conclusion that we take our daily lives for granted, and wanted to give back and say thank you for those sacrificing their lives for us. And so Brides Across America was born.

Since 2008, BAA has hosted hundreds of wedding gown giveaways for military members & first responders. To date over 750 Operation Wedding Gown events have been held at hundreds of locations throughout the United Stated, and we have gifted more than 25 weddings. You can read more about our programs by clicking the tabs above, or by visiting BAA's website.

Gown Giveaway Events

Each July & November we host dozens of Operation Wedding Gown giveaway events in cities and towns nationwide. If you are military member or first responder that qualifies, you can receive a free wedding gown through our programs.

Upcoming events are listed on the event registration page on the Brides Across America website, along with other important information regarding the events.

Our New Store

In May 2018, Brides Across America (BAA) opened its first Shop for a Cause retail salon. Open to the general public, the salon sells a wide variety of designer wedding gowns, accessories, shoes and jewelry at up to 80% off retail prices.

Funds raised through the Shop for a Cause will support future BAA events and weddings for our service men and women. BAA hopes to inspire and give back to other local charities that support military, dress for success, training and development programs.  You to can make a difference by shopping at the BAA Shop for a Cause store or making a financial donation.

Helping One Hero at a Time

In early 2018, Brides Across America (BAA) launched several new programs and initiatives geared towards providing directed giving targeted towards heroes with exception circumstances, financial need or inspiring personal stories. We also launched a program that allows you to Honor a Loved One.

To learn more about our directed giving programs, or to help, please visit the Ways to Help page on BAA's website. You may also help by making a financial donation or donating a wedding gown. Your help truly makes dreams come true for our heroes!
